Considered one of the pioneers of Amador County in the Sierra Foothills, Scott started his career in winemaking 45 years ago. Scott, being trained in Germany, crafts his wines in a European style. These wines are made for food and that is why our Estate Chef, Brian Overhauser will offer suggestions for wine and food pairings. Scott met his wife, Jana, an industry marketer and together they started their wine company in 2004. Scott’s favorite wine to make is Barbera and considers Amador the best region in the world for that variety. Zinfandel and Syrah also flourish. Extremely knowledgeable about wines in general, Scott is a great educator and will answer any questions you may have about wine and winemaking.
